FBMSA feels strong connection to local community in Australia and always upholds the culture of Bangladesh. FBMSA raises funds for natural disaster and health crisis, coordinates interstate donations to help people of Bangladesh and Australia. Recently FBMSA has donated for flood victims in Australia. During Covid-19 pandemic FBMSA has helped health professionals in Bangladesh with PPE and contributed to multiple charity activities for general people. In Australia, FBMSA had organised webinars to update management of the evolving pandemic to all Bangladeshi doctors. In collaboration with Bangladesh High Commission in Australia, FBMSA provided direct contact details of Bangladeshi doctors in each state and territory so that any Bangladeshi who was living in Australia can receive information in Bangla.
Profession & Society
At the annual conference and AGM, FBMSA organises cultural events to celebrate the rich Bangladeshi culture and share that with our next generations. FBMSA has published “Elixir” that would remain as a hallmark for literary, cultural, professional footprint of all Bangladesh Doctors Societies in Australia.
FBMSA representatives individually and as a groups are directly involved in teaching, treating, advocacy in Bangladesh for many years. They not only serve as volunteer, often carry medical equipments, material with them to donate in Bangladesh. FBMSA has been working closely with government and private stakeholders in health sector in Bangladesh to contribute more widely in coordinated, structured ways.
